A FolkFest Appalachian Dining Experience

The FolkFest Appalachian Dining Experience in Cumberland Gap, TN is a local fundraising event for The Guardians of the Gap, the community’s not-for-profit organization which serves to preserve, protect, and promote the region of Cumberland Gap, TN.

Imagine 100+ guests sitting together at one long harvest table that runs a full city block on Colwyn Avenue, all enjoying the unique, intimate experience created by family-style dining, and a table where food is served on large platters meant for sharing, rather than as individual plates, just like you might at home in your dining room.

The table showcases local growers, traditional place-settings, and takeaways to commemorate the evening. This dinner strives to bring to life Appalachian foodway’s past, present, and future, combined with the importance of gathering together and how food ties into the region. An immersive experience highlighting folk music, storytelling, demonstrations, and visions of the future of Appalachia.
