The Daniel Boone Arboretum is a certified Tennessee Arboretum located along a portion of the Daniel Boone Greenway, a 4-mile walking/biking trail that travels through Harrogate City Park, Lincoln Memorial University campus, an old railroad tunnel, the historic town of Cumberland Gap, and Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. Along the greenway, visitors can find over 60 different species of native trees that are appropriately labeled and learn about their habitats and uses. The arboretum is a project of the Harrogate Tree Board in cooperation with Lincoln Memorial University.
Recreational opportunities include walking, running, and bicycling. There are also plenty of educational opportunities to learn more about the trees of Tennessee. Nearby Harrogate City Park offers areas for basketball, volleyball, skateboarding, a children’s playground, horseshoes, picnicking, and several other family-friendly activities.
The greenway trail meets ADA guidelines and is accessible year-round for free.
